Ilse Teeters-Trumpy

Ilse Teeters-Trumpy's practice is focused in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury, family law and criminal defense.  She has represented family law clients in a variety of mediations, hearings and trials, in cases involving complex custody and property disputes, DHHS and criminal investigations, as well as cases involving tax, bankruptcy and business valuation issues.  Ilse is also a registered Guardian ad Litem.  She has represented clients in a variety of civil and criminal matters, including car accidents, slip and falls, OUI and other traffic offenses, domestic violence offenses, as well as protection from abuse and protection from harassment matters.

Before joining Taylor, McCormack & Frame, LLC, Ilse worked for a law firm in Augusta, Maine, where she gained substantial trial experience in a variety of civil and criminal matters.  She served as a law clerk for the Hon. Donald G. Alexander of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. During her clerkship, she had the opportunity to assist Justice Alexander in editing Maine Appellate Practice. Ilse is a 2006 magna cum laude graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Maine Law Review, was a student attorney with the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic, and interned with the Portland District Court as a Bernstein Fellow. Ilse is a 2000 magna cum laude graduate of Connecticut College where she received degrees in Government and French. After graduating from college, she continued her studies at the Ecole Normale Superior in Paris, France. Ilse worked for two years as a legal assistant in a busy litigation law firm in downtown Boston before attending law school.

Ilse is on the board of the Maine Law School Alumni Association and is the Vice-Chair of the Family Law Section of the Maine Bar Association.  She is also a member of Propel, a young professional association in the greater Portland area, and regularly volunteers with SailMaine, a community boating organization.

Ilse enjoys sailing, running, skiing, hiking and mountain biking in her free time.  Ilse is originally from Annapolis, Maryland, where her grandfather and great-grandfather were wooden boat builders. As a result of her studies abroad, Ilse is also proficient in French.
